In July 2008, the Township Board purchased an additional 1.05 acres on its north line that contained a farm house. This site became part of what is today the site of the 2013 Coldwater Township Park.
Coldwater Township built a Park that opened for public use in the spring of 2013. The park was, in part, funded by the State through revenue derived from oil, gas and mineral production from state-owned lands grant. The park has the latest in playground equipment such as: a Supernova (Merry-go-round), climbing stations with slides, swings, a ground level and a raised sand box for wheel chair users. The park also includes a .31 mile walking track for those who want to exercise. A portion of the walking track encompasses a large area planted with prairie flowers. The park is complete with rain gardens and bathroom facilities with a green roof.
The park has a large pavilion that can be reserved which features: twelve picnic tables, two charcoal grills and electric outlets. There are also three picnic cabanas’ each with a single picnic table and grill. There is a large open field that can be utilized.
