Office of the Assessor
The Coldwater Township Assessor is responsible for the annual assessment of real and personal property in Coldwater Township, as well as, the issuance of property tax identification numbers, Property Transfer Affidavits, Principal Residence Exemption Affidavits, Land Splits, Legal Transfer Documents and Personal Property Records.
The assessing department’s main function is to maintain a record of each property in the township. The types of data maintained on assessment record cards are building sketches, legal descriptions, square footage and year built, etc.
It is the responsibility of the Township Assessor to maintain accurate names and mailing addresses for all Coldwater Township property owners. If you have a change in your mailing address please email russellsiler@coldwatertownship.com or call 517-279-9388 ext. 1.
Every year by the beginning of March, property owners are sent a Property Assessment Change Notice. Individuals are encouraged to review this statement thoroughly. If you have any questions you should contact Coldwater Township Assessor Russell Siler at 517-279-9388 ext. 1. Many questions can be answered by simply talking to the assessor.
Appeals of assessments are made to the Board of Review. March Board of Review meeting dates are listed on the change notice.
